Let Netflix Nip Holiday Boredom in the Bud

You know it’s going to happen at some point, so just stop pretending that it won’t. Other than the summer break, the break during the Christmas holidays is the longest one during the school year. Once the excitement over the new toys, clothes, or gadgets has worn off, everyone’s going to be looking for something… anything to pass away the time.

Once all the gifts have been opened, the last of the guests have left, and before the decorations come down on the 1st, this house goes into full-on hibernation mode. It’s a gluttonous time of the year that I think we all look forward to after 12 months of going full steam. In year’s past, the adults have passed that time binging on shows like Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, and The Man in the Hightower. This year I couldn’t decide what one show that I wanted to watch but managed to get in several movies instead.

If you’re looking to line up your queue either for the remainder of the holiday or perhaps even a wild night at home on New Year’s Eve, here are a few that will make pretty much anyone in the house happy! One of the things that I love about the shows that Netflix puts out for their teen/tween audience is that

Trollhunters – Hot off the presses on 12/23!! After uncovering a mysterious amulet, an average teen assumes an unlikely destiny and sets out to save two worlds. Created by Guillermo del Toro.

Fuller House – The release of this show earlier in the year was so successful that Netflix fast-forwarded production on season 2 and it was just recently announced that yessiree, Bob there WILL be a season 3!! The Tanner family’s adventures continue as DJ Tanner-Fuller shares a home with her sister Stephanie and friend Kimmy who help raise her three boys.

Lost & Found Music Studios – Teen singers-songwriters in an elite music program form bonds of friendship, creativity and romance while turning their passion into their profession.

Chasing Cameron – Go behind the scenes with social media sensation Cameron Dallas as he takes his career to the next level on an international tour.

Shows the Kids Can Watch While You Recuperate

Big plans for New Year’s Eve? Hoping to catch some extra zzzz’s on New Year’s Day or maybe sneak off for a nap? You know the masters of Netflix and Chill have the help you need. Log in to your kid’s Netflix account, add these shows to their list, leave them a note with directions on how to pour a bowl of cereal, turn on the tv, and not to knock on your door until the big and little hand are on the number 12.
