Making Apple Smoked Piggy Pops with Cave Tool Smoker Box
One of the big drawbacks of winter is that we do not grill out nearly as much as we do in the warmer weather. Now that it’s March, we’re slowly getting back into grilling out at least once, if not twice, a week. Pretty soon we’ll be back at it at least 4-5 times a week. We’re always on the lookout for something new to try so when we set out to find a recipe that we could test out the Cave Tool Smoker Box, the Rooster found this one for Apple Smoked Piggy Pops.
I can’t properly put into words how amazing these things were… holy smoke they were incredible. They tasted like little riblets on sticks.. smoky, sweet, tangy, and a surprising little kick from the jalapeno. I’ll take these piggy popsicles any day of the week.. it even got the thumbs up from the 12 and 17 year old so you know that’s a winner! The prep time was no worse that you would expect for something that results in such great taste but not so much that we won’t make these part of our favorite, go-to things to make.
About the Smoker Box –
The smoker box from Cave Tools was sent to us to test out. We love, love to smoke things but it’s usually way too much effort to do it more than once or twice a year. The smoker box gives us a chance to have smoke infused foods without all the hassle of pulling out our bigger smoker. It’s sturdy, stainless steel build guarantees that it will hold up to the direct heat of your grill yet small enough to fit without taking up precious room. The hinged lid gives you easy access to add more wood chips while you’re grilling and it easily holds enough wood chips to produce that yummy smokey flavor that is just so delicious.
