Can’t believe it’s Saturday already! Bonus points for it being a 3 day holiday weekend! We’re heading up to Mt. Airy today which is commonly referred to as Mayberry since it’s the town that the show was centered around. It’s such a cute little town and a total trip down memory lane.
1) The eldest left on Thursday for Vail, CO for the trip of a lifetime with our best friends. They go every year for President’s Day week and asked if they could start “rotating” and take one of our girls with them each year. I love them for that! While I’m a little sad we’re not doing it together with our family unit, I love giving the girls a chance to experience new things. She’s going to have the time of her life! I’ve loved getting her pictures texted to me and I can tell she’s already relaxed and not worrying about the stupid drama BS that she’s been dealing with at school lately. I told her before she left that it was going to be nice for her to get away from all of that and just be happy.
2) I did it!! Shorty Award’s nominations closed at midnight last night and thanks to some amazing friends – both local and in cyberspace – knocked Britney Spears out of the running! WootWoot!! Just for bragging rights I was determined to be a finalist. I took out the Bieber’s mom and then took out the Britney Spears. All I can say is that I could never be in the position where I had to really rally for votes. That’s hard! And unfortunately, there were a lot of bugs in the system so sometimes votes wouldn’t take and I would have to go and ask for people to resubmit their votes which meant I had to feel dirty twice. The final announcement will be next week so now I’m left hoping they don’t find something wrong with the votes that I did get. Not sure what the next step is in actually “winning” the award but I hope it’s not begging people for votes again. In the meantime, heres’s my moment of glory 🙂
3) It was Valentine’s Day this week and as usual, we spent the day as we normally do.. shuttling kids around, homework, etc. I’m one of those that would rather the Rooster show me his love throughout the year.. not just on one day. However, he did go the extra mile and made an amazing seafood dinner. Hope it was a special day for you and yours, too!
Hope you all have a great weekend!! We’re off to see Aunt Bea, Opie and Andy!
Hey! If you leave me a comment (and why wouldn’t you??) PLEASE make sure you include your website/blog so I can come and visit!
