Twin City Rib Fest

Triad Love: Texas Pete Twin City RibFest Giveaway!

The Twin City RibFest Giveaway entry is at the bottom of this post….

Anyone who knows me knows that I dig pig. A lot. As a matter of fact if I could only eat one meat, much to my doctor’s chagrin, it would be pig. So believe me when I tell you that my all-time favorite Twin City Rib Festevent in Winston is the Twin City RibFest.  And it’s coming up next week which makes me really happy.

Last year, I begged went on a campaign to become a judge because, well, why not? Remember.. I love pig and we’ve roasted more than our fair share of them for a couple hundred of our closest friends.  They took pity on my poor soul and agreed to let me be a judge and then I had to back out because of the 100th Girl Scout Birthday trip. I was crushed. But I saved that email and begged them again this year and once again they said yes. Please humor me and check out my judge bio.. and for the record… I staged this picture in front of the rusty, old Ford pickup that ribfest judgessits in my neighborhood. Fitting, no? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>>

If you haven’t been, and you’re in the Triad, you’re missing out. It’s four days of delicious awesomeness. In addition to the nine teams that will be battling it out to see who’s the Top Pig of the RibFest, there will be enough music to please pretty much everyone. While it’s definitely a family friendly event, the organizers are gently steering it back to it’s original roots of being more for the adults. Checking out the “fun stuff” section of their site, I can see that already – there aren’t nearly as many inflatables, etc this year.  Here are more details:

Okay, I’ve talked enough.. Since I was brave enough to ask to be a judge, I figured why not ask for some tickets to give away to some of you awesome people. I’ve got more than 20 tickets to give away which gets you free admission ($7 value) and on the back of each ticket is a $10 coupon to Brixx Pizza! So that’s like I’m giving you $17! I’m keeping the entries simple and bear in mind this is next week so you need to move fast so I can get you the tickets if you win. I’ll give each winner two tickets, so there’s at least 10 winners!

That sounds so cool! Just remember Jay Baer’s cautionary tale: http://www.convinceandconvert.com/social-business/what-we-can-learn-from-me-getting-kicked-out-of-a-bbq-contest/

Be there on time for the judging 🙂
