Wordless Wednesday – Being Sixteen and Loving Summer

#WordlessWednesday

Remember being 16 during the summer? Maybe you had a job (I did.. American Express NROC!!!), maybe you didn’t but the one thing you most likely did have was your license. Was there a better freedom than being able to go and do what you wanted to do, when you wanted to? No more waiting for mom and dad to take you someplace.. all you needed was your license, a car and a willing partner in crime!

Love seeing my oldest spread her wings and taste all there is to love about being carefree and full of life. Seeing her and her friends head off to the next adventure takes me back 30 years when me and mine were doing the exact. same. thing.

God speed and safe driving, girls!

I still worry… but at least not on a daily basis. I’m always happy for my girls when they realize they can do something. My oldest is now having new challenges at an adult job, and it is hard to feel powerless to help. But I know she will grow in confidence as a result of getting over each hurdle, so I try and listen, pray, and encourage.

You are so good. I was a total wreck when my boys got their license and went off on their own for the first time. I watched them drive out of the driveway. I had them call me when they got to their destination and when they were returning. Seriously, I was so nervous. I knew they could drive, but I worried about everyone else driving around them. Love the pic and your confidence.

We’ve got 7 months under our belt now, but yes.. that first time watching her drive away on her own was a whole pool of emotions and worry. Why do our babies have to get so big so fast?!
